| Can you print the line art that
you want to paint directly onto the watercolor paper from the computer?

Hi, Lauren! Good question. There are two parts
to the answer:
1) I have used my HP printers for years to print on 140 lb or less
watercolor paper. Heavier does not work on these printers because the
paper is rolled around inside and gets stuck. If your printer keeps the
paper flat, maybe you could use heavier. Be careful that you don't ruin
your printer testing!
2) You can print line drawings, but you will be limited to the
paper size your printer will accept. You would need to lighten the line
drawing so that it doesn't show through your painting, unless you want to
create a new "look".I've made small
"prints" of my paintings on watercolor paper and framed them or made
cards. There has been no fading that I've seen, but this has been only
about 5 to 10 years and is not a good indication of the permanence of the
ink.
